Completed in early 2022, the design for Gallup’s new DC headquarters showcases a remarkable approach to the workplace. The design team was presented with a unique challenge – creating a sophisticated and edgier working environment while preserving the historic architecture of the Old Masonic Temple. Additionally, a variety of meeting spaces needed to include more collaborative areas as well as formal conference spaces – all with upgraded technology to support the various events hosted by the Gallup team.
The design team proposed a wide range of innovative solutions that successfully addressed all challenges. By introducing a variety of huddle spaces and open areas, as well as specialized meeting spaces that support the organization’s new functions and thought leadership, the team created an inviting and inspiring environment for employees. To support employee well-being and productivity, natural light was celebrated wherever possible. Throughout the workspaces, areas for recharge, collaboration, and socialization were created to support Gallup’s day-to-day functions. While public spaces for clients and visitors, such as the Great Hall, were also enhanced with new state–of–the–art solutions – including elevated lighting, cutting-edge Audio/Visual design, and modernized, reconfigurable furniture.
The design team blended the existing Old Masonic Temple structure with modern elements to achieve a harmonious balance of legacy and modernity. The resulting design for Gallup’s new DC headquarters has significantly improved business workflow. The carefully designed variety of spaces facilitate creativity and collaboration, while the updated technology has elevated Gallup’s ability to host events and serve its visitors. Overall, the new Gallup office offers an aesthetically pleasing environment that fosters productivity, innovation, and collaboration. The project serves as a benchmark for other organizations seeking to create inspiring, functional, and sustainable workspaces that blend heritage and advancement.
