Convene is a prominent coworking and event space provider with a focus on hospitality. Our challenge was to design Convene’s first location in Washington, DC at Terrell Place: a historic building located in Penn Quarter. Our goal was to create a space that fused this location’s rich history and architectural language with the boutique experience for which Convene is renowned.
Occupying three floors, the space includes a full-service kitchen, chef’s demonstration tables, and two new monumental stairs. A custom fabricated skylight with circadian rhythm lighting runs the full extent of the basement amenity floor. Biophilia is brought into the space through the use of planters and greenery that are equipped with grow lights. The space is also outfitted with original artwork that supports the concept.
Convene’s first foray into Washington, DC offers a beautiful space with rich, thoughtful details throughout. Steeped in history while offering cutting-edge services, this coworking space feels like a luxurious home away from home.
