7500 Old Georgetown Road is a recently repositioned 1984 office building, making it competitive in Bethesda’s growing commercial core. Strategically located at the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and Old Georgetown Road, this 16-story, 338,000 rentable square foot building contains 15 levels of office, a state-of-the-art amenity level at the top of the building tower, a plaza level offering retail and office functions, and a Metro level with office, retail and common lobby areas.
The design solution includes a new Metro Level lounge with direct access to the Bethesda Metro Station; a new amenities floor containing a 3,500 square foot conference center and a 5,200 square foot fitness facility; new typical floor restrooms; a new exterior plaza and landscape; and façade upgrades including overall building painting and exterior lighting. A new main building lobby was expanded beyond the existing footprint by over 1,500 square feet. This new lobby permits varied seating and casual meeting areas, creating more dynamic and engaging spaces. A new lobby façade was constructed with innovative ultra-clear glass panels, 5-feet wide and 18-feet tall. This new transparency permits better views out to the plaza, and better views in from the exterior, allowing the lobby to be easily admired. The 16th Floor of the tower contains a new conference and fitness facility, with finishes echoing the main lobby. The conference amenity, occupying 3,500 square feet, is equipped with flexible conference rooms for a range of uses and functions, including auditorium seating for 100 people. It is accompanied by a pre-function lounge for large-scale events and other corporate engagements.
The renovation of 7500 Old Georgetown Road successfully transformed the building into a modern, elegant, and highly functional corporate office building that will serve today’s changing work environments. Beyond the building’s interior, the renovated exterior is a focal point for the center of Bethesda’s new urban core, reinforcing this most prominent site and making it a desirable location, once again, for businesses in the area.
