Sabret Flocos Receives Washington Business Journal’s 2011 Women Who Mean Business Award

Washington, DC, (November 18, 2011) – FOX Architects, an expert in commercial office design and architecture is pleased to announce that one of the firm’s founding principals, Sabret A. Flocos, IIDA, LEED AP, earned the Washington Business Journal’s 2011 Women Who Mean Business Award. Ms. Flocos was among 25 women who received this honor last night during a celebration of the 8th annual Women Who Mean Business Awards at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. This awards program is designed to recognize the region’s most influential businesswomen from a variety of industries and professions. The 25 honorees were selected from nearly 150 nominations, one of the highest nomination totals this awards program has garnered.
“It is truly an honor to be recognized with such a diverse and talented group of women,” stated Ms. Flocos. “This award is a testament to women’s influence in our industry and in the professional services community.”
Ms. Flocos is continuously recognized by her peers for her superior design expertise and exceptional leadership. Most recently, she and her design team received top honors at the Mid-Atlantic chapter of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA MAC) awards program. Additionally, Ms. Flocos was honored in October of 2010 with the Professional Women in Construction’s Woman of Achievement Award, which recognizes women of significant achievement in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry.
Ms. Flocos’ philanthropic activities are a testament to her dedication to fostering the community in which she lives and works. She volunteers her time with various organizations, such as Junior Achievement, Our Daily Bread, Carpenter’s Shelter and the National Capital Area Chapter of the March of Dimes. Ms. Flocos currently resides in Northern Virginia with her husband and two children.
