Derek Wood, AIA, LEEP AP, Appointed to Principal of FOX Architects

FOX Architects, LLC, an award-winning architecture and interior design firm, is pleased to announce that Derek Wood has been promoted to Principal. 

“We are extremely pleased to announce that Derek has been made a Principal of the firm,” said FOX Principal JP Spickler, AIA, “This is not only a great accomplishment for Derek, but a great milestone for the firm. Derek has been a significant contributor to the evolution of our architecture practice, and his unique design perspective and leadership abilities will continue to drive our success.”

Since joining FOX in 2006, Derek has been instrumental to FOX’s growth. A leader in the industry, he has designed over five million square feet of built environments including master planning, design build, and built-to-suit projects. His leadership in some of FOX’s key projects such as 440 First Street, 2175 K Street, 1900 N Street and the new 1000 Maine Avenue project at The Wharf have helped to transform DC’s urban environment.

“Derek has consistently shown a high level of leadership, client dedication, and commitment to architectural excellence,” said Bob Fox, AIA, Principal. “His role is key to both our firm’s long-term growth strategy and its present success, and we are proud of his contribution to the firm and are honored to promote him to Principal.”

Derek holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dickinson College and a Master of Architecture degree from the Rhode Island School of Design.
